It was in the rural Leicestershire village of Lubenham that Len had his first introduction to music. As a member of the church choir he would attend rehearsals on the Friday evening and sing at the services on the Sunday. It was not until he was at secondary school that he started instrumental studies initially playing the trombone.
He has enjoyed a full career in army music serving for 27 years including 17 years as a music director to a number of army bands and training establishments. He has travelled extensively and taken part in many state ceremonial occasions including the Queens
Silver Jubilee in St Paul's Cathedral (1977).
On leaving the army in 2004 he retrained as a specialist music educator with the British Kodaly Academy, Trinity College of Music and other Kodaly organisations.
Len now runs his own early childhood music centre with over 500 pupils and 10 staff. He is also much in demand as a teacher trainer for both classroom and instrumental teachers.
